Free Country, Jeremy Duns - 2010

Paul Dark knows that secrets don’t last long in the world of espionage, but he also knows he must do whatever it takes to keep one safe. Especially now that he realizes that maybe killing Father was not a good idea after all; perhaps just a natural response to his inner turmoil and confusion.

A fresh murder makes the circumstances more complicated, and now it is necessary not only to cover the tracks, but also to throw the blame onto someone else’s shoulders.

The action begins from the first page with a breath-taking chase through London, and later on, Rome acts as a fine backdrop for a scintillating plot.

Jeremy Duns places Paul Dark at the centre of a deadly conspiracy where both sides of the world are after his head.

Keep an eye on: the human characteristics of Paul Dark. He’s a double agent, he’s a highly trained operative, but he has his weaknesses, and Jeremy Duns manages to show every one, thereby making his character even more realistic.

Free Agent is definitely a highly recommended book, and Free Country is a read-before-you-die.

A must read.
